notwithstanding going after 277K miles
I am the sole owner of a 2004 Forester XS which is still going at 277,000 miles. It has proved to be a reliable auto with proper maintenance, and have trusted it so far on many backcountry and off-road adventures. By 2022 standards, the car is just fairly powered, merely I was able to tow a #1800 trailer many a time. The engine required an all-encompassing rebuild at 185K miles, which is typical for a Subaru, and the transmission was swapped out for low-miles used transmission at 250K miles - surprising adept because its life history. Route noise/air leaks around the windows are the biggest problem. The sunroof actuator broke mid-life, which was disappointing. Otherwise, a quality car.

A lot of road noise ( wind etc...)stereo( audio )arrangement sucks. Difficult start a lot of times. Doesn't seem reliable. Drives pretty skillful as far as acceleration and handleing, just doesn't seem as great as I hear from most people.

My previous motorcar had broken down and needed a quick cheap fix to the state of affairs while resolving my finances. I had heard horror stories about used car dealerships then went in as a skeptic. They were dainty enough to explain i was buying a used car and to expect a few wear and tear problems. I bought it with the express intention of just owning information technology for a few months. I took it to my mechanic changed the fluids and information technology served me well with minimal maintenance for three years before i decided to get another. Subsequently this experience and how much i saved i do not see myself buying a brand new car

This Forester has stuck with me through thick and thin, has been reliable and extremely useful transportation both for commuting and for holiday trips. It's been well maintained on a regular footing and has a new oil change and a new bombardment. My mechanic says it's in good shape and he'due south certain information technology will pass inspection as-is. The car is extremely clean and has had a thorough professional person detailing. Snow tires with wheels included. Roof rack for kayaks tin can as well be included. Foresters regularly last many more miles. Subaru's clarification of its specifications: This XS model includes automatic climate control, heated seats, a 6-CD thespian, leather-wrapped steering cycle, and 16" aluminum wheels, as well every bit the standard foglights, hill hold characteristic, folding mirrors, roof rack, intermittent front end and rear wipers, cruise control, and keyless entry. Safe: The AWD Forester is praised for its operation in bad conditions and road conditions. It earns five stars from the NHTSA in front and side crash tests, owing to dual front and side-touch on air bags, ABS brakes, 16-inch tires, and agile head restraints.

The Subaru Forester is a neat car. As a alpine woman, 5'10", I need room for my legs when driving and equally a rider. This vehicle gives me enough of head and leg infinite. The interior is comfortable for long trips and holds a lot of gear in the back. It is well built and undecayed. Our prior Forester lasted with its original engine to 297,000 miles. That is why we bought another one!

So far the machine has been skillful. Information technology looks nice on the inside and outside. It also handles well. The gas mileage isn't the all-time merely information technology's a turbo so that's expected. Information technology also uses synthetic oil so that makes the budget a flake more than. Premium gas is also recommended and that gets expensive. Overall I feel it has been a good car.

Overall I really liked the forester xt. I didn't leave mine stock so if you are looking for that type of review this is not it. I bought the car, put virtually $2k into modifications and made 150 hp over stock. With a skillful tune it ran reliably, I never had a problem with it in 40k miles and it got every bit good gas mileage after the mods and tune as when it was stock simply they dont get neat mileage originally.
